no more car on day 2; so we went walkabouts.
one thing about the states which i wish was different is the quality of the coffee – which sad to say, is MILES better in australia. ‘hipster’ specialised coffee is more or less a ‘normal’ coffee here. anyway, being the coffee snobs we are [...0__O], we managed to find a pretty good coffee place along valencia st! called Four Barrels. quality stuff! with a huge coffee grinder thing in the back…love the setup of this place:D
lines ever growing on a weekday morning…
coffee grinder thing. awesome.
lady talking to us about melbourne coffee culture…
wandering further i was pretty delighted to see so much awesome street graffiti scattered along side streets…soo amazing!!
love this one! tiger so dope hehe:D
full side street of graffiti…so awesome!
womens building. whole building is covered!
made our way towards Tartine, a famed bakery in the Mission area. it didnt disappoint!
fresh pastries…
buttermilk scone:D
poops goats cheese + ___ cheese grilled sandwich. was amazing, the cheese gave it a massive kick though x__X
made a detour from downtown towards Fishermans Wharf – super touristy area, which i got tired of pretty quickly. but nice weather made up for it:)
clam chowder….not bad!
met zinnie in the city for a bit…
union square. so nice!
walked passed jay park’s verizon fanmeet…the lines went on FOREVER!
…before moving off to see the golden gate bridge. apparently the anniversary of the bridge was around the time we went [may 24th]?
these aussie guys asked me to happy snap them once they saw me with my own SLR haha…
…annd then zinnie accidentally drove too far and landed us in the traffic towards the golden gate bridge…
..but i got some really nice on-bridge photos from it:D love this one!
next stop; park chalet near the bay. little did we realise it was a SANDSTORM outside! [not even kidding...the sand was whipping around so fast in the wind it hurt. and we got sand everywhere]
lichan’s beer samplers.
pretty sunset! had to take this real quick before my camera and face were abused by the sand though haha…
dinner was at Maverick, a southern food place in Mission again. fried chicken was crazy good!
fraiiid chicken.
my halibut…not bad!
peppers..none of mine were hot though=[
me + zinnie:)
day 3! decided to check out Mission Beach Cafe for brunch...
wasnt bad. just too much potato for the morning.
...back to union square downtown for more shopping:)
the cable car which started downtown...
up on union square:)
my friend was insistent on trying In-N-Out burgers before we left the west coast, so it was back down towards the wharf.
so excited.
more excitements. verdict? i think he liked it hahahaha...
massive rice krispie square.
decided to try walking up the famous Lombard street [the zigzag street]…
..which was a bad idea because it was SO hot and SO steep at this point in the day!
stormclouds a comin…
this tram driver was awesome! so charismatic…and everytime we asked him a question hed be like, “OH YEAH OH YEAH OH YEAH.” ehehe.
last meal in SF…tritip beef! OMG now im a fan haha…it was sooooooooo gooooooood!:D
time to cross coasts to chicago….
peace!
