ALCOHOLIC SMOOTHIES + SPICY INNARDS: JOOMAK REVIEW

joomak

last friday night was that time again to visit another korean bar with friends for drinks and nom nomz…this time was joomak, a lil hidden underground korean bar/eatery near the corner of swanston + latrobe st in the city…im a n00b when it comes to secret lil places to eat because in all honesty i only started going out more recently, and i definitely did not know this place existed until recently!

the text next to the number 1) on the right side says that it is possible to request songs that you like to listen to at any time…so was pushing my friend to suggest oldschool BOA songs hahahaha!! cuz hes a fan. but he refused. so i requested taeyang’s [unfortunately WAY OVERPLAYED] ‘wedding dress’ instead. HAHA.

took a while for some people to rock up, but we ordered a lot of little dishes and to my excitement! they had flavoured makgolli/막걸리, which is like this cloudy..rice wine. tried it in peach and mango and OMG, was freakin AWESOME. could barely taste the alcohol…kind of just like a fruit smoothie. which is kind of dangerous, if you cant hold your alcohol. flavoured grape soju was not too bad either…but id definitely go back for the 막걸리!!:D

peach 막걸리. yummm!!

out of all the dishes we got, would REALLY recommend the spicy chicken giblets…mild was okay, but the spicy one had an extra kick which i preferred;) seafood pancake was also pretty bomb.

panfried flounder + 김치찌개? i dont remember what the stew is that we ordered. OH 순두부찌개 – spicy tofu stew.

CIMG3238

some cheese egg roll thing. was not bad:)

CIMG3239

김치파전/kimchi pancake…:)

staple corn and cheese…i didnt try this but everyone said it was bomb.

CIMG3242

mmmm해물파전/seafood pancake SO GOOOD

CIMG3246
