fashion maker

love your fashion but don’t have the money for it?

got a creative streak but don’t know where to express it?

why not combine your love for fashion with your creativity and DIY!!!

yes DIY for some of us that is a majorly dreaded acronym.  Especially for people like me who lack dexterity and coordination in their fingers much less the rest of their body.  So anyway enough about my lack of coordination and sporting ability and sewing skills.

Maybe you got the creativity but lack the technicalities well then here’s a blog for you :

This blog was started by a really good friend of mine who has a major knack for producing something from nothing – quite literally just a sheet of cloth, some pins and a sewing machine.  And she posts things from her own inventions to interviewing other talented seamstresses to sharing other techniques she loves from other bloggers/tailors.

An example of one of her creations is a jungle jane dress she made for me for a costume party –

(please ignore my incredibly random expression i didn’t realise she was taking my face as well)

but yes i still have this dress and absolutely love it because of the material and just the basic cut of the dress – btw this was one of her very early creations so goes to show how talented she is.

one of my fav creations from her so far is this one –

beautiful silver fairytale dress – elegant, fitted and just plain gorgeous.  i majorly want one 🙂

so here’s a challenge for all you guys out there – live to inspire not impress.   and this could be your first step to that challenge.. diy instead of buying something off the racks which is likely to be worn by someone else on the streets.

we would love to see any DIY stuff you guys have done so do share it with just by dropping a comment or posting your blog url 🙂

cheers all!

god bless and take care 🙂
