ADELAIDE [EATING] ADVENTURES

so…be prepared for FOOD PHOTOS!! hahaha….

my immune system picked a great time to fail on me and i got pretty sick just before i flew off to adelaide at the start of this week…unfamiliarity with the practice system paired with my inability to breathe or talk properly [if at all!] rendered my first 2-3 days of work pretty painful, ROFL. it wasnt a bad week though – adelaide patients are much more chill! and i got to catch up with some family friends….but for sure, BURN CITY is my home now! too quiet in adelaide for me now..

i got set up in a pretty nice serviced apartment for the week – although my friend locuming in adelaide [too, by coincidence] was WTF!! when he saw it – i guess i probably wasn’t supposed to get something so nice…and double storey?! HAHA. im pretty thankful though, because it made my stay pretty comfortable!

oh and this guy busking in rundle mall…TOTALLY MADE MY WEEK. and the more amazing thing aside from the combination of flute + macho appearance was, his flute playing was actually really good!!

met my friend jackie mid week; and ate with her three times! needless to say, spent a lot of money and ate…probably a bit too much. but it was good all the same haha. she took me to this lil jap place Wasai Japanese Kitchen just off a side street near Chinatown…and i was pretty surprised how packed it was [nearly all tables reserved!] given its adelaide ROFL, and it was a wednesday night – but the food was pretty good, so that probably explained it=P

CIMG3567

CIMG3568

edamame beans…

some massive assorted dish, cant remember name…was good!

CIMG3570

unadon….GOOD!

CIMG3571

tuna tataki…not bad….the sauce had a bit of a sour taste though…

after that, drove to Prospect Rd to Devour Dessert Cafe – i had to double take to check if it was open, we were the only customers when we approached! but the desserts were pretty cute; as people may know by now i dont eat chocolate and generally avoid it, but pretty much all the desserts had choc in them, so no choice=/ my bombe alaska proved to be a treat to the eyes, at least!

thursday night i caught up with my godmother and her husband – went for chinese food on Gouger St at a new place called Bava Chinese Restaurant…food was pretty average, but the novelty was definitely the electronic menus! thought that was pretty cool – i thought it was a bit rude how the manager seemed to only talk to me as the one to make the food decisions, given the other two people i was with are a good 40+ years my senior…0__O

friday night chilled after work with my friend andrew; went for lebanese at Al Amir Restaurant on Rundle St – food was not bad! but service was pretty poor. the first waitress was reluctant to give us a seat at first; given that it was a friday and we had no reservation, the cute blonde waitress who served us had no idea what anything tasted like on the menu nor what some of the items were, and they took much too long to give us to bill after we asked at the end…-___-

CIMG3592

something called fatteh! roofl it was ok…like a vegetable pastry…bit sour..

CIMG3593

falafel + ingredients….GOOOD
