DRIVING TO SEE THE DUCHESS

super late on this one; but been soo busy lately! last monday me + my friend sam decided to check out Duchess of Spotswood, a lil brunch cafe on the westside of melbourne – both of us being eastsiders, it was kind of an UH OH moment when we were trying to figure out how to get to the west side without getting totally lost!

once we got there, it was even more inconspicious than i had imaged…looked like the type of place which would be good for tea + scones:D once inside, waitresses with pretty printed dresses, red lips + tattoo sleeves [hehe] greeted us once inside..

i chose the Prince of Wales [ ‘cured salmon served warm with watercress and spinach puree, asparagus, caviar and poached eggs’] and sam chose the Breakfast of Champignons [‘ potato and barley hash with field mushrooms, English Stilton and poached eggs’] …heard that the lambs brains [EH!? ><] and the Duchess of Pork are good [from friends]…so maybe will check those out next time:)

Breakfast of Champignons…mushrooms super good!

Duchess of Spotswood is a cute lil cafe, with decent coffee and very interesting brunch dishes, although its a lil far from me! id recommend it to people on the west side of burn city at leaaast;)

we tried to have our cake and eat it + went to pillar of salt for brunch ‘dessert’…unfortunately by this time brunch had finished, couldnt get our pear bread + had to settle for juice + coffee=[
