SOWING AT SEVEN SEEDS

went out last thursday morning to catch up with a few church friends over brunch at Seven Seeds, a speciality coffee roasting joint on Berkeley St near Melbourne University.

Seven Seeds on Urbanspoon

iv heard much about this place [since diana made her visit HERE!] so i was curious to check it out, especiallly the coffee! being the caffeine addict i am…

seven seeds is in a pretty lowkey location, and you would’ve never guessed it was a brunch spot if you were just strolling aimlessly near uni! the interior has a warm but industrial feel, kind of reminded me of a brighter version of Axil

i also liked how they had a massive coffee grinder in the back room; just makes me feel the place is THAT much more authentic because of it=P

first things first, coffee! i cant remember what the single origin of the day was now [possible…costa rican? or something similar] but it was pretty mild tasting, i probably would’ve liked something a  bit stronger in terms of flavour…but it was okay. i need to try the coffee again here decide what i think, haha=]

look! the waiter spotted me happy snapping….hahahaha

food was not bad – yo and sam got the cured salmon, jenny got eggs royale, i got the minted pea smash – presentation wise they looked really good! [albeit too many peas made my food look slightly…fluoro] the only real thing we noticed was that the bread was realllyy hard, so it was a bit tough to cut/chew. and something in my egg and pea concoction made it very very sweet, perhaps a bit too sweet? overpowering the taste of the peas and eggs themselves…but otherwise, not too bad.
